March 30, 2007 MESSAGE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS Dear Valued Boater, Customers and Licensees: As announced on February 19, 2007, an agreement has been reached between the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and Nautical Data International (NDI) for DFO to buy back its rights from NDI under the Revised Canada/NDI Agreement (“RCNA”). The RCNA is a sole licence agreement between DFO and NDI for the distribution of Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) electronic charts and data. The closing for the buyback agreement has taken place today March 30, 2007 as planned. The announced buyback agreement allows for an orderly transition to the Canadian Hydrographic Service ("CHS") of NDI's current responsibilities under the Revised Canada/NDI Agreement ("RCNA").  Under the buyback agreement, your license has been assigned to CHS effective today. NDI intends to redirect its business towards serving the international boating communities demand for reliable marine information and services independently from the exclusive relationship with CHS.  As of March 31, the 2007 Canadian CHS-Certified DigitalOcean® chart products will not be available for direct orders from NDI. These products remain available until the end of the current boating season through the network of authorized dealers. Boaters and customers interested in purchasing the 2007 edition or in upgrading their earlier releases and previously registered CHS Certified DigitalOcean® chart products may contact the authorized dealers for these purposes.  Following today’s closing of the buyback agreement, CHS will assume full responsibility for production, marketing, sales, distribution, licensing and technical support of its digital charts and data.  We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all of our customers, boaters, dealers, value added resellers and Government officials who supported NDI over the years and we are looking forward to providing the boating community in Canada and Internationally with world-class marine information and service.
